Build 38. Propshaft

This involves simply slotting the prop shaft into the gearbox. First I checked that the prop had been greased already by removing the grease nipple, which revealed that it has been pre-greased by CC. I then lightly greased the outside and inside of the part that will go into the gearbox, this should help keep it lubricated whilst in place. I then went under the car and removed the plug on the end of the gearbox ready to insert the shaft, a tiny bit of oil dripped out which confirmed it was pre oiled and was probably sat there from when I installed the gearbox.

Next I got into position and slid the shaft into the transmission tunnel, there are some wider parts in the chassis that it fits through, I also slid mine in with a X pattern (otherwise it looks like it will foul on the handbrake assembly).

I needed to give it a few taps with the rubber mallet to get it to go through as it was very tight, it also scratched the powder coat inside the tunnel, which I will touch up with Hammerite just to make sure it is rust proof (as this is exposed under the car!)
